Sobre el evento

Hakomi Legacy Holders Georgia Marvin and Donna Martin will facilitate a two-hour exploration of the Legacy of Ron Kurtz.  They will be sharing rare footage of Ron teaching to inspire discussion and practice in his evolved version of the Hakomi method. For anyone who never participated in his trainings, this will give you a taste of the original Hakomi. For those who had the good fortune to experience Ron first hand, this will be a touching and nostalgic reminder of his gift.

Ron Kurtz was the creator of Hakomi and dedicated his life to developing and refining this approach. He emphasized the importance of non-violence, gentleness, and respect in the therapeutic process. Ron's contribution lies in his innovative integration of various disciplines, including Buddhism, psychology, and somatics, to create a unique and effective therapeutic method. His work has had a significant impact on the field of psychotherapy, providing practitioners with valuable tools to help individuals explore their emotional patterns, uncover limiting beliefs, and achieve personal transformation.

“After nearly 50 years of studying and practicing the art of psychotherapy, I have come to realize that Hakomi is unique in an essential way. I no longer think of the Hakomi Way as a particular methodology of psychotherapy which can be compared and contrasted with other methods. I believe Hakomi is actually the way in which any method of psychotherapy is expressed most elegantly. It is the profound embodiment of intimacy, the healing heart of any liberating relationship. It is the foundation of loving presence and the pathway to the transformation of unnecessary suffering."
